The Czech Republic has unveiled a new portal, ‘Work in Czechia,’ designed to attract foreign talent to strengthen its skilled labor market.
This initiative aligns with the European Institute for Innovation and Technology’s (EIT) Deep Tech Talent Initiative, which aims to upskill one million individuals in deep tech fields by 2025, as reported by Schengen News.
By launching this portal, the Czech Republic is actively seeking skilled professionals from abroad to support its economy’s high demand for expertise and ambition.
This initiative mirrors the recruitment efforts seen in Scandinavian countries in Europe.
Additionally, Czechia is strategically aligning with other European nations actively recruiting tech experts, as stated on their website.
Czech Republic’s Labor Market
The Czech Republic, situated in Europe, boasts a dynamic labor market across various sectors, offering international workers substantial opportunities for career growth and personal development. The country’s network includes both local and international companies, as well as numerous startups.
The newly introduced portal, accessible at Czechia.EU, provides a detailed guide for foreign professionals. This resource covers all facets of life and work in the Czech Republic, offering crucial information on visa and immigration processes alongside cultural integration tips.
Jan Michal, the head of the CzechInvest agency, emphasized that the platform presents numerous opportunities, especially in the technology sector. It also delivers essential guidance on navigating the visa application process, thus easing the integration of international talent into Czechia’s labor market.
“The website provides foreign talents with a comprehensive overview of life and employment in our country,” Michal stated, highlighting the portal’s utility in attracting skilled professionals from abroad.
“They can find all the necessary information there, from visa and immigration details to tips on cultural activities,” he added.
EU’s Initiative to Train Millions in Tech
In 2022, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT) introduced the Deep Tech Talent Initiative, aiming to upskill one million individuals in deep tech fields by 2025. This initiative is intended to bridge the talent gap by cultivating a substantial pool of deep tech professionals throughout Europe.
To achieve this goal, EIT has been offering courses designed to develop and enhance new or existing deep tech skills.
